Customer unable to connect to internet with agl service, billed $218 aud for modem and service despite unresolved issue, requesting bill waiver.
In mid-June, I chose AGL as my internet service provider after moving. I opted for a plan that included a modem since I didn't have one. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts, I was never able to successfully connect to the internet with your service. I have communicated this issue with your team at least 5-6 times without resolution. As a result, I decided to cancel the plan. To my surprise, I received a bill from AGL stating I owe $218 AUD, including $149 for the modem and $69 for the internet service. This is very confusing to me because I never successfully used the internet service. Not only was my internet connectivity issue unresolved, but I am also being asked to pay for a service I couldn't use. Furthermore, I was informed by your customer service representatives on multiple occasions that once the modem packaging is opened, it cannot be returned and the charges cannot be waived. This policy seems unreasonable considering I only opted for the modem because I needed it to connect to your service. Now, due to the unsuccessful connection and the testing conducted with your technical team, I am being held responsible for the modem fee. This is extremely frustrating. AGL has not only failed to fulfill my basic internet needs but has also shifted the responsibility onto me, the consumer and the affected party. This is unacceptable. For the past month, I have been unable to sleep well and have experienced mental and emotional distress because of this situation. I urgently request that AGL waive my entire bill, including the modem fee.

Customer seeking assistance from agl to update contact details, notify property sale, and address account arrears for mother in aged care.
I have been attending to call AGL for weeks.. I am an employee at a private hospital, I also am to date an administrator for my mothers estate, VCAT Order.. I need to update the contact details for my mother. I also need to advise my mother’s property at 14/41 Chapel st St Kilda has sold, effective as of 15 June 2024. Having access to my mothers bank details, I see there have been deductions made, just to advise my mothers account is in arrears, as she has been in high care since 2019, Menarock aged care in Highett. Please advise me of outstandings and where I can upload my VCAT order for your reference. My VCAT order is effective as of 30 April 2024

Customer seeks apology from agl for misinformation regarding payment for electricity bill causing stress and inconvenience.
I called AGL and was enquiring about my electricity bill to try and get some help with it as it’s quite high. I was told on 5 June that if I paid $148 by 13 June that AGL would honour my electricity account the remaining amount. I followed up a few days later online chat to ask what was happening with that which someone else replied that they were still processing it but it was definitely for my electricity account again a couple of days later I asked the same and AGL confirmed that it was again for my electricity account and it was just been processed. I’ve called them this morning and they’ve said that it was an error on their part and a mistake that three staggered people gave me the wrong information. And that I wasn’t supposed to told that it wa side my electricity it was supposed be for my gas and there’s nothing that they can do. I’m just wondering because on three different occasions by three different people at AGL I’ve been told that a debt would’ve been settled on my electricity account then now saying that they can’t do that, which is extremely stressful for me. Ago have got audio of a lady telling me that it was my electricity and I’ve got screenshots of the live chat messages I just want some direction on what to do next as this really doesn’t seem fair at all … o went out of my way three times to confirm that it was for my electricity account

Customer seeks $15000 refund for overcharging by agl due to incorrect household size, now paying less with alinta energy.
I've been over charged for my AGL for years, they were charging me for a house with 4 or more people. I found out because I changed power companies, to alinta energy they have changed my account. Now instead of paying over $600.00 every 3mths I'm now paying $300.00 to $400.00 3mths there has only been a Max of 2 people at one time staying in the house. I've worked out that Agl owes me over $15000.00. I would like to have this looked into. Thanks Carolyn Stuart

Customer seeks $250 refund and apology from agl for overcharging, despite proof of absence and average bill of $60.
They have over charged me on bills, one month I was not in the country. Average monthly bill $60, the months in question $253 and $137. I paid them and was told after waiting 3 months it would remain and no credit given. I have my passport which shows I was not here. I have no changed providers. This has been traumatic and drawn out on there end. With non stop calling sometimes 10 times a day over $50. I would like a refund of $250, I believe this is theft.

I am writing to follow up on my previous complaint regarding the exorbitant final bill I received upon moving out of my studio apartment. Despite my initial attempt to address this issue through your customer service channels, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response or resolution. Furthermore, I am deeply disappointed to receive a threatening email from AGL Energy, indicating the possibility of selling my debt to a collection agency. This approach is both unprofessional and distressing, especially considering the lack of communication and resolution regarding my legitimate concerns. I reiterate my willingness to pay the average monthly bill amount for the duration of my tenancy with AGL Energy. However, I refuse to comply with the unreasonable total stated on the final bill, given the absence of transparency and explanation provided by your company. Additionally, I would like to emphasize that my preferred method of contact is via email at nathanvandervoort@hotmail.com. I expect all future correspondence regarding this matter to be conducted through this channel. I urge AGL Energy to reconsider its approach and prioritize resolving this issue amicably and transparently. I trust that as a reputable energy provider, you will address my concerns promptly and ensure fair treatment of your customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
