Customer seeks refund and apology from europcar for being overcharged for returning commercial van early due to lack of staff.
I hired a commercial van for 1 day between the hours of 7am and 5pm Saturday 06/07/2024 - 06/07/2024. I returned the vehicle at 3:20 in the afternoon on Saturday 06/07 because we had finished moving the furniture from our rental house in Rockhampton to our home we had just purchased also in Rockhampton. There was nobody at the service desk to hand the keys to so i put them in the drop box. I then got a receipt for the vehicle on Monday and i was charged for 2 full days. I'm so unimpressed with the service, i am an honest customer and have rented vehicles before through Europcar and never have I had such a poor experience. When I raised that I had been double charged the customer service agent said do i have any proof that I dropped the vehicle back to the Airport at 3:20...NO! I do not but I'm sure if you checked with security you will see me returning the vehicle on Saturday 06/07 at 3:20. It's not my fault that Europcar has no staff to attend the desk on a weekend. My case number is #20427599

Customer seeking repair costs from europcar after being struck by one of their vehicles, but company is ignoring calls and refusing to repair without evidence.
On the 4th June 2024 I was driving in Werribee plaza car park when my vehicle was struck by a europcar vehicle. The other party admitted fault and I got details from a witness not k own to me. Euopcar have ignored all of my calls and emailed me to say they will not be repairing my car as the accident is both of our faults without checking the cctv footage or calling the witness

Customer seeks $1200 refund from europcar for unnecessary insurance pushed by staff at heathrow airport, causing upset and frustration.
I hired a europcar ref no. GB106233630 (1174136712) 24/5/2024 through a second party, (Economy bookings) I paid an additional sum to get FULL coverage When we arrived at Heathrow airport we were told we didn't have insurance . explained we did the sales person on the desk was very persistent and very pushy He dismissed our insurance saying Economy car rentals hadn't given us any. As we were tired and wanting to get to our final destination (My husband's father is very ill the only reason we were there) we felt pressured into paying the extra $1200 aud (ish) I find this practice from your staff very unscrupulous and underhanded. we paid money we didn't really have, on something we didn't need. We left there feeling quite upset and frustrated. I would like a full refund of the additional insurance your staff member tricked us into paying

Customer seeking $971 deposit back from europcar, was charged upfront instead of preauthorized. multiple delays in refund process causing financial strain.
I hired a car from Europcar whilst in South Africa for work. When i picked up the car on March 21 I was charged both for the 4 weeks of rental and the refundable deposit which they deducted upfront and said it was going on hold. Based on there policies (and what i was told in store) it should have been a preauthorise transaction and the deposit which is $971 should have never actually left my account and been on hold then released after drop off 3-5 working days (although i have been told 7 working days and 30 working days) which has all passed any way as the car was returned on the 22nd of April. They have told me how the process is meant to go 'release funds on drop off' but no one seems to be giving my money back even though they have said it should never have been taken. My bank confirmed the money was never put on hold originally. The financial strain this is causing being such a larger amount as well it was a credit card so I am being charged interest on this money. I’ve had 3 separate people tell me they need to check in with the store i hired from the first guy turns out never actually contacted south africa, the 2nd lady just came back and said they 'spent the deposit' and the 3rd told me he will reach out to them. I am concerned they are going to try to just say we damaged the car to get around it (which we haven't and we have photos etc) but if it comes to that there process doesnt change the money should have still been released (if it was on hold properly) and we would be notified of damages then a cost so either way the outcome here is my money needs to be returned. I just want my deposit back.

Europcar Case #18879073 Europcar are claiming that I returned a rental vehicle a day late when I infact returned it an hour early. Unfortunately the desk was unattended when I returned it (even though it was during their business hours), so I placed the keys in their return box as per their policy... The time of entry to the carpark was clearly marked on the parking ticket that I left within the vehicle.

Customer booked car through virgin app, unaware of $5500 excess charge from europcar. hit kangaroo, left with bill. requesting excess charge waiver.
I recently booked some return flights from sydney to adelaide for my daughter and I on the virgin app on my phone. In the past i have always arranged for a family member to pick me up when i visit, however this visit was for a surprise party for my mothers 80th birthday. For this reason I decided to look into hiring a car for the first time in my life. So the virgin app offered hire car options so found what i thought was a suitable car for a cheep enough price and booked it on the virgin app.<br />Several weeks had passed and i had no confirmation that i had hired a car except that i could see the money had gone from my account. Upon looking at my bank statement i noticed the name of the company that the money went to was rocket cars. I have googled rocket cars and found a contact number and called them. They were able to confirm that i had a booking and they would send me a confirmation email witch they did. This email confirmed the booking and said the car had been booked through europcar.<br />We fly to Adelaide arriving at 9:00pm and find our way to the europcar office in the car park. It is at this time that the europcar staff inform me that the car will have a $5500 excess applied if i have an accident, unless i pay extra to reduce it. I would NEVER hire a car with a $5500 excess knowingly. I did not have the money to spare and my family members live 3 hours away from the airport, so I was left standing there at 9:30pm with no choice but to sign the paperwork and take a $5500 risk i was completely uncomfortable with.<br />The following night i have hit a kangaroo, something that is completely beyond my control. As a result not only was i left 3 hours away from the airport and had to find my own way from there on with no contact from europcar and i now have a $5500 bill i was forced into and have no way of paying.<br /><br />I would appreciate someone having a look at this from my perspective and waving the excess as i would have not gone ahead with the hire of the car if at the time i booked i was notified of the excess amount. i also think europcar should consider making changes in how third parties sell there product so this doesn't happen to other people in the future.<br /><br />I would appreciate being contacted by an actual person.<br /><br />Rental Agreement 6510774764<br />Vehicle Registration 1YR4JU<br />Case Number 24HV12075
