You can cancel or close your PayPal account or subscriptions at any time - provided your account is in good standing.

• Account Closure Restrictions: You cannot close your PayPal account if:
  
  
  • There’s a remaining balance
    
    
  • There are open disputes or pending transactions
    
    
  • The account is locked or limited
    
    
• Subscription Cancellations: You can cancel any pre-approved payment at any time, just do it at least 24 hours before the next scheduled charge to avoid being billed again.
  
  
• Pending Payments: Payments marked “Unclaimed” can be cancelled. Once a payment is accepted or processed, you must request a refund or open a dispute.

Follow these steps for smooth cancellation:

1. Cancel Subscriptions / Recurring Payments

• Go to Settings > Payments > Subscriptions and Saved Businesses
• Select the service and click Cancel

2. Withdraw Funds

• Go to your balance and select Transfer Money to move funds to your linked bank account.
  
  

3. Resolve Pending Items

• Cancel any Unclaimed payments in the Activity section.
  
  
• Settle disputes or resolve account limitations by uploading any requested documents.
  
  

4. Close Your Account

• Go to Settings > Account Options > Close your account
• Confirm closure (it’s irreversible and immediate).
  
  
• Save statements or transaction records first if needed
  
  

5. Cancel a Specific Payment

• For already completed payments, request a refund from the recipient or open a dispute in the Resolution Center
