Spotlight’s price match program (the Bargain Guarantee) is designed to ensure you always get the lowest price when buying identical products in-store. If you find the same item cheaper at an eligible Australian retailer, Spotlight will match the price and beat it by an extra 10%.

To qualify, your item must meet these requirements:

✔ Identical item
The item must be the same brand, model, size, colour, and variant. Both Spotlight and the competitor must have the product in stock and available for immediate purchase (no backorders, no rainchecks).

✔ Competitor must be a physical retailer
Spotlight matches prices from retailers that:

• Have a physical store in Australia, and
  
  
• Either have a store within 30 km of your Spotlight location or can deliver the item to your address.
  

Online-only sellers or overseas sites aren’t eligible.

✔ All costs included
Spotlight compares the total price, including GST, shipping fees, and delivery charges if applicable.

✔ Bundle offers must match exactly
If the competitor’s deal includes bonus items or bundled accessories, Spotlight will only match it if the bundle is identical.

Important note: Price matching is in-store only, must be done before you pay, and cannot be applied to online orders, lay-bys, or after-purchase adjustments.

Spotlight’s Bargain Guarantee is simple, and with a little preparation, you can secure an additional 10% off the competitor’s price.

1. Confirm the lower price
Find the identical item at a lower price from an eligible competitor. Make sure it’s in stock at both retailers.

2. Gather your proof
Bring evidence of the competitor’s pricing, such as:

• Printed or digital catalogues
  
  
• Screenshots of product pages
  
  
• Online listings (showing price + date)
  
  
• A signed quote on letterhead
  
  
• A recent competitor receipt
  

Clear documentation speeds up verification.

3. Visit your nearest Spotlight store
Price matches must be done in person. Use Spotlight’s Store Finder to locate your closest store.

4. Request the price match before paying
At checkout or customer service, show your proof and say something like: “Hi, I’d like to claim the Bargain Guarantee on this item.”
Staff are trained to process these requests and will verify your evidence.

5. Verification
A team member may check the competitor’s website or make a quick call to confirm item availability and pricing. This usually only takes a couple of minutes.

6. Get your 10% price beat
If your request meets the criteria, Spotlight will beat the verified competitor price by an extra 10% - applied directly at the register.

7. If issues arise
If a staff member hesitates or is unsure, politely ask them to check the official Bargain Guarantee policy or request a store manager.

Spotlight’s Bargain Guarantee is generous, but several situations are excluded:

❌ Wholesale or trade-only suppliers
Excludes wholesalers, importer warehouses, trade suppliers, duty-free outlets, and auction sites.

❌ Clearance, liquidation, or closing-down sales
Extraordinary discounts or one-off liquidation prices are not eligible.

❌ Cashback, vouchers, or coupon-based prices
Prices reduced by vouchers, coupon codes, or cashback redemptions don’t qualify.

❌ Cannot combine offers
You can’t stack a price beat with Spotlight VIP discounts or other promos.

❌ No retroactive price matches
Requests must be made before purchase, and cannot be applied after the sale or on lay-by items.

❌ In-store only
Spotlight will not apply price beats on online checkouts.

❌ Identical item requirement
If the competitor’s product includes bonuses or accessories Spotlight does not offer, or if either store is out of stock, the match won't apply.
