Virgin Australia allows cancellations for all bookings, but refunds or credits depend on your fare type:

• 🟢 Business Class: Fully refundable – no cancellation fees.
  
  
• 🟡 Economy Flex: Refundable with a $99 fee or full Travel Bank credit.
  
  
• 🟠 Economy Choice: No refund, but eligible for a Travel Credit (minus $99 fee).
  
  
• 🔴 Economy Lite: Non-refundable – entire fare is forfeited if cancelled.
  
  

🛡 Cancel For Any Reason: If purchased, lets you cancel most fares and get 80–100% refunded.

✈️ Virgin-Initiated Cancellations (e.g. schedule changes): You’re entitled to a full refund or credit regardless of fare type – no fees.

🚫 No-Show = No Refund: If you don’t cancel before departure, you forfeit the fare entirely.

🧾 Extras (baggage, seat selection): Usually non-refundable unless Virgin cancels the flight or fails to provide the add-on.

1. 🌐 Cancel your flight online:

   • Enter your booking reference and surname.

   • Note: Cancelling forfeits all remaining points and status benefits.
     
     
4. 🎟 Cancel add-ons (e.g. seat selection):
   
   
   • Remove or change add-ons in Manage Booking, or call to request.
     
     
   • Refund depends on fare rules and timing.
     
     

💡 Tip: Cancel before departure, even if last minute, to preserve refund/credit options.

• 🕒 Cancel before departure: Even up to 30 minutes prior. This avoids “no-show” forfeiture.

  • Credit cards: 5–10 business days (can take up to 60 in rare cases).
    
    
  • Travel Bank credits: Often same-day or within 48 hours.
    
    
  • Velocity Points refunds: 1–2 days after cancellation (if allowed).
    
    
• Extras: Add-ons (e.g. Economy X) must be cancelled at least 3 hours before departure to qualify for refund.
  
  
• Velocity account closure: Processed within a few days after request. This is irreversible.
  
  

💡 Save cancellation confirmations and refund references, you’ll need them for follow-up if delays occur.

Virgin’s cancellation fees depend on your fare:

• ✈️ Economy Lite: No refund or credit – full fare is lost.

🎟 Reward bookings (Velocity Points):

• Cancel <24 hrs or no-show → Points forfeited.
  
  

💺 Add-on refunds:

📞 Call Centre Service Fee: $40 if you cancel by phone instead of online (only applies to eligible fares that could be managed online).
