Can you cancel your SoundCloud Go subscription? Check eligibility and conditions
SoundCloud Go (and SoundCloud Go+) are monthly subscriptions you can cancel anytime in Australia. There’s no minimum subscription length, you’re simply opting out of the next renewal.
The big thing that determines how you cancel is where you subscribed:
- Subscribed via the SoundCloud website (web purchase): You can cancel through your SoundCloud account settings, but you’ll need to use a web browser (not the mobile app).
- Subscribed via Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad): You must cancel through your Apple ID Subscriptions settings. SoundCloud can’t cancel App Store subscriptions for you.
- Subscribed via Google Play (Android): You must cancel through Google Play subscriptions.
Free trials (when available) usually auto-renew into a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can cancel during the trial, and your access typically continues until the trial expiry without converting to paid.
How to cancel a SoundCloud Go subscription, service or order
If you bought SoundCloud Go/Go+ on the SoundCloud website (web)
- Use a web browser (not the app)
Open SoundCloud in a browser (desktop is usually easiest). - Go to your Subscriptions page
Visit: https://soundcloud.com/you/subscriptions - Click “Edit” next to your plan
You’ll see your current plan status. Click "Edit" (often shown as a pencil/gear icon). - Choose “Cancel plan” / “Opt out of renewal”
Follow the prompts to opt out of auto-renewal. - Confirm your cancellation
Make sure you complete the final confirmation step. - Check your status shows “EXPIRES”
Your plan should update to show "EXPIRES" with an expiry date. That’s your proof you’ve cancelled renewal.
If you subscribed via Apple (iPhone/iPad)
- Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → SoundCloud → Cancel Subscription.
If you subscribed via Google Play (Android)
- Open Google Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SoundCloud → Cancel.
Important: Deleting the SoundCloud app or closing your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed through Apple or Google.
How long does a SoundCloud Go cancellation take?
SoundCloud Go renews on a 30-day billing cycle. When you cancel, you’re usually stopping the next renewal, not ending access immediately.
What to expect:
- You can typically cancel right up until near the end of your current billing period.
- After cancelling, your subscription should show an expiry date, and you keep premium access until that date.
- To avoid accidental charges, it’s safest to cancel at least 24–48 hours before your renewal date (especially if you subscribed via Apple or Google Play, where renewals can process slightly ahead of time).
If you’re on a free trial, cancel before the trial end date to avoid rolling into a paid month.
SoundCloud Go cancellation fees and final charges – what to expect
SoundCloud does not charge a cancellation fee for ending SoundCloud Go or Go+.
What you may still “pay” for:
- If you cancel mid-cycle, you generally won’t get a pro-rata refund for unused days. Instead, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
The main risk of unwanted charges comes from cancelling in the wrong place:
- If you subscribed via Apple or Google, you must cancel via those platforms to stop renewals.

Consumer experiences with SoundCloud Go cancellations
Most people who cancel using the browser subscriptions page report it’s straightforward. Once the plan status shows "expires", renewals stop and there are no further charges.
Those trying to cancel inside the mobile app or who are logged into the wrong SoundCloud account typically run into cancellation issues.
