 cancellations – how to easily cancel your subscription or service

RACV offers a 21-day cooling-off period on most new memberships and insurance policies. Cancel within this window (and without using the service) to receive a full refund. After that, cancellation is still possible:

• Roadside Assistance: Can be cancelled mid-term. Pro-rata refunds are available only if no call-outs have been used.
  
  
• Insurance Policies: Refunds based on unused premium, unless you’ve made a total loss claim.
  
  
• Club Memberships: These run for 12 months and cannot be cancelled mid-term - only during the renewal window.
  
  
• Travel Insurance: Refunds available before the trip starts, if no claims have been made and you’re within 21 days.
  

To cancel RACV services:

• Online via your MyRACV account: Navigate to your product and click “Cancel product.”
  
  
• By Phone: Call 13 72 28 with your policy number.
  
  
• In Person: Visit an RACV retail store.
  
  
• Email: For special cases (e.g. bereavement), contact care@racv.com.au with details and documents.
  
  

Make sure you specify exactly which product you’re cancelling and request confirmation of cancellation by email or post.

• Within 21 days of purchase: Cancel for a full refund.
  
  
• Before renewal date: Cancel before your next billing to avoid charges.
  
  
• Roadside & Insurance: Cancel any time for pro-rata refund (if eligible).
  
  
• Monthly billing: Cancel before the next payment; no partial refunds mid-month.
  
  
• Club memberships: Cancel only at renewal; mid-term cancellations aren’t accepted.
  
  

Travel bookings (e.g. RACV resorts) have individual deadlines. Often 24–72 hours before check-in for a full refund.

RACV doesn’t charge cancellation fees in most cases. The only cost is for the time you were covered:

• Insurance: You’ll be refunded the unused portion.
  
  
• Roadside: If unused, you may get a refund for the remaining months.
  
  
• Club Membership: You forfeit the remaining year if cancelling mid-term.
  

No admin or processing fees are charged when cancelling by phone, app, or in-store.
