Flybuys is a free loyalty program, so you can close your membership at any time without a fee. Keep in mind:

• Primary account holder: Only the main member (who originally signed up) can close the account.
  
  
• Immediate effect: Upon cancellation, your Flybuys points, Flybuys Dollars, rewards, and offers are immediately forfeited and non-transferable.
  
  
• Additional members: Any linked members also lose account access and points upon closure.
  
  
• Points expiration: If no activity occurs for 12 months, your account and points may expire automatically.
  
  

Tip: Redeem your points or Flybuys Dollars before cancelling, as these are permanently lost once the account is closed.

Cancelling your Flybuys account is straightforward and can be done via:

Flybuys Mobile App

• Open the Flybuys app and log in.
  
  
• Tap the Account icon → select “Close Account”.
  
  
• Confirm the cancellation. Your account closes immediately.

• Call Flybuys Member Support at 13 11 16 (Mon–Fri, 9am–7pm AEST).

Helpful Tip: Save your Flybuys number and points balance before cancellation, and remember to unlink any partner accounts (e.g., Velocity Frequent Flyer).

Flybuys cancellations take effect immediately upon confirmation. Key points include:

Flybuys itself charges no fees for cancelling your membership. However:

• Loss of points/rewards: Unused points and rewards are permanently forfeited.
  
  
• Travel booking cancellations: Flybuys Travel (a third-party service) might impose cancellation fees, even if your hotel or airline booking advertises "free cancellation".
  
  
  • Some customers have reported unexpected fees (e.g., $55 administrative fee). Always review the booking terms thoroughly.
    
    
• Rewards orders: Cancelling orders from the Flybuys store typically has no explicit fees, but reversing these can be challenging once processed.
