Trying to cancel Disney+? Avoid the runaround.
Can you cancel your Disney+ subscription? Check eligibility and conditions
Disney+ subscriptions in Australia can be cancelled at any time. There are no lock-in contracts or minimum terms for either monthly or annual plans.
All Disney+ subscribers are eligible to cancel. However, how you cancel depends on where you originally subscribed:
- If you subscribed directly on the Disney+ website, cancellation is managed through your Disney+ account.
- If you subscribed through a third-party platform (such as Apple App Store, Google Play, or a telecom provider), cancellation must be completed through that same platform.
Disney+ does not currently offer free trials in Australia. If a promotional or trial period applies, cancelling during that period may end access immediately rather than at the end of the trial.
Annual subscribers can cancel at any time to stop renewal. In most cases, cancelling an annual plan does not result in a refund for unused months unless the cancellation occurs shortly after renewal and is approved by Disney+ support.
How to cancel a Disney+ subscription, service or order
To cancel Disney+ directly through Disney:
- Open a web browser (not a TV or console app) and log in to your Disney+ account.
- Click your Profile icon and select Account.
- Under Subscription, select your Disney+ plan.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm cancellation when prompted.
After cancelling:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- Disney+ will send a cancellation confirmation email showing your final access date.
If you subscribed via a third party:
- Apple App Store: Cancel via Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Google Play: Cancel via Google Play Subscriptions.
- Telecom provider: Cancel directly with that provider.
If the cancel option does not appear, Disney+ support can assist via live chat or phone.
How long does a Disney+ cancellation take?
Disney+ cancellations stop future billing but do not immediately end access for paid subscriptions.
- Monthly plans: Cancel before the next billing date to avoid another charge. Access continues until the end of the billing cycle.
- Annual plans: Cancelling stops renewal. Access continues until the end of the prepaid year.
- Promotional or trial periods: Cancelling may end access immediately.
There is no advance notice requirement. Cancelling even one day before renewal is usually sufficient to stop the next charge.
Disney+ cancellation fees and final charges – what to expect
Disney+ does not charge cancellation fees.
There are:
- No early termination fees
- No exit penalties
- No reactivation fees if you resubscribe later
Cancelling simply stops future charges. Any amounts already paid cover access until the end of the current billing period.

Disney+ Cancellation FAQs
Can you cancel Disney+ in Australia anytime, and is there a lock-in contract for monthly or annual plans?
You can cancel Disney+ in Australia at any time because there’s no lock-in contract or minimum term on monthly or annual plans. Cancelling stops future billing, but your access usually stays active until the end of your current paid billing period. For annual plans, cancellation typically prevents the next yearly renewal rather than ending access immediately, so you can keep streaming until your prepaid year finishes.
How do you cancel Disney+ if you subscribed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or a telecom provider?
If you subscribed to Disney+ through Apple, Google Play, or a telecom provider, you need to cancel through that same platform. Disney+ won’t usually let you cancel inside your Disney+ account if a third party controls billing. After cancelling, check your subscriptions page on that platform for a final access date or “expires” status, and keep the confirmation email or screenshot in case you’re charged again.
How do you cancel Disney+ directly through the Disney+ website, and why won’t the cancel option show in the app?
You can cancel Disney+ directly by logging in on a web browser, going to Account, selecting your Subscription, and choosing Cancel Subscription. Many people can’t find the cancel button because TV and console apps don’t manage billing, and mobile can be harder to navigate than desktop. Once cancelled, Disney+ should send a confirmation email with the date your access ends, which is your proof it won’t renew.
Does cancelling Disney+ end access immediately, and can you get a refund on an annual plan?
Cancelling Disney+ usually does not end access immediately for paid subscriptions, because you keep access until the current billing period ends. Monthly cancellations stop the next charge if done before your billing date, and annual cancellations usually stop the next renewal while you keep access for the rest of the year. Refunds for unused annual months are not typical and may only happen in limited situations, such as shortly after renewal if support approves it.
