Description of the Issue: I am writing to bring to your attention several concerning issues related to the property adjacent to mine, located between 4026 and 4036 Arthur Highway, Murdunna. The property in question lacks proper permits to camp on private land, or permit the land to be used to set up a caravan or any other mobile home. This situation has significantly impacted my family's privacy, safety, and overall quality of life. Details of the Complaint: Unauthorised Occupancy: Within a short span, we have encountered numerous issues, starting with the unregistered bus that moved onto the property for long-term occupancy without proper registration or permits. Despite lodging a complaint with the council, the bus was temporarily moved, only to be replaced by an unregistered caravan shortly after. Continuous Nuisance: The occupants of the caravan, along with additional visitors, have caused significant disturbances in the neighbourhood. This includes setting up makeshift toilets, improper waste disposal, and even lighting campfires with hazardous materials like plastic, resulting in unpleasant odours, hygiene concerns, and attracting flies. Privacy Invasion: Moreover, the presence of a surveillance camera facing towards our backyard raises serious privacy concerns. The occupants have also engaged in intimidating behaviour, making derogatory comments, mocking, and giggling whenever we are outside our property, creating a hostile environment for us. Requested Resolution: I urge the council to take immediate action to address these issues and ensure compliance with the Tasman Council Regulatory Services Bylaw. Specifically, I request the following actions: Investigate the property for any violations of land and caravan lease permits. Enforce waste management regulations and ensure proper sanitation measures are in place. Address the privacy invasion concerns by investigating and potentially requiring the removal of the surveillance camera. Take necessary steps to mitigate disturbances and maintain the neighbourhood's amenity and safety. Supporting Evidence: I have enclosed relevant records, including proof of advertisement for the lease of the property, photographs of the unauthorized structures and activities, and any other materials that may aid in your investigation and resolution of this matter. I trust that the Tasman Council will take this complaint seriously and promptly address the issues outlined above to restore peace and safety to our neighbourhood. I am available for any further information or assistance required during the investigation process.
