refund policy – how to claim your money back

Amazon Australia allows returns for most items within 30 days of delivery, as long as the product is unused and in its original condition. This applies to items fulfilled by Amazon as well as many third-party sellers, though seller-specific return policies may apply.

Certain categories (like digital downloads, gift cards, hazardous goods, or personal care items) are non-returnable. Refund eligibility also depends on product condition. Damaged or incomplete returns may be denied or partially refunded.

Change-of-mind refunds must be initiated within the 30-day window, while faulty or not-as-described items may be returned even after that period, backed by Australian Consumer Law protections.

1. Go to Your Orders – Log in at Amazon.com.au, locate your order, and click “Return or Replace Items.”
2. Select a Reason – Choose the return reason (change of mind, faulty, not as described, etc.).
   
   
3. Print the Label – Amazon or the seller will issue a prepaid return shipping label or provide shipping instructions.
   
   
4. Pack the Product – Repack the item securely with all original packaging and labels.
   
   
5. Drop it Off – Take the parcel to Australia Post or a ParcelPoint drop-off using the prepaid label.
   
   
6. Track the Return – Use your return tracking to monitor delivery. Amazon updates your return status in “Your Orders.”
   
   
7. Refund Confirmed – Once received and approved, Amazon will email confirmation and initiate the refund.
   

Most Amazon refunds are processed within 3–5 business days of receiving the return - often faster. Some customers report instant refunds (within hours of drop-off) for eligible, low-value returns.
