The Manifesto

When I became a lawyer, there was one thing everyone always asked me for help with. And it wasn't the blockbuster topics like criminal law, corporate takedowns or government battles.

It was consumer law: the everyday unfairness people faced from businesses they chose to spend their money on.

They needed help fighting for fairness when they faced issues like the “superfast” internet that streamed like 90s dial-up. The dog-friendly vacuum that choked on a few strands of Fido’s fur. The travel insurance claim knocked back on a technicality.

My friends and family were up against “the system”. They didn’t stand a chance. But I was able to get a fair outcome for all of them.

It wasn’t easy. It took a mix of know-how and grind. People came to me for 3 reasons: they trusted me, I knew things they didn’t and – importantly – I did the work (so they didn’t have to).

Fast-forward 15 years. I’ve moved from law to startups. And Moore’s Law has given us powerful AI that can solve problems which previously needed a legal friend with know-how and grind…

We’re former lawyers, tech nerds, culture savvy operators and product builders. And we’re all proud consumers. We engage with businesses as partners, not combatants. We’re here so you don’t have to fight or wade through endless admin just to get a fair go.

We’ve built Ajust for Reasonable Folk. We’re for the pragmatists. The realists. Those who care about what’s fair. Who are loyal to brands that treat them right. And who give praise when it’s due.

Ajust is NOT for Serial Complainers. We won’t advocate for people that expect more than they deserve. Who search for loopholes and argue technicalities. Who push back in the face of reasonable answers. Who constantly chase compensation. And are always dissatisfied.

We’re selective about when we step in because we’re wired to do good things. If you ask for something unreasonable, we’ll say no. We’re transparent and methodical about how we assess what’s fair. If you disagree with us, we’ll hear you out (but we might still say no at the end).

Over 400,000 people have come to Ajust for help. We’ve sent more than 25,000 complaints to businesses. We’ve won back thousands of dollars in refunds and saved thousands of hours of people’s time dealing with customer service. We’ve featured on national news and run media campaigns with millions of views.

The best parts of our story are still to be written.
