Customer seeks cancellation of partner's phone account, faced multiple issues with telstra, received unexpected bill, demands cancellation confirmation by post.
My partner is 82 and can no longer hear on his mobile phone. He asked me to cancel his phone for him. Early May I rang to cancel his account. They advice me to go to Telstra in Hobart to do this. I When I went to Hobart they told me to ring Telstra as they were just a service to sell phones. I rang Telstra again after numerous holds and several disconnections I spoke to a man who said he could cancel for me. During this call he advised me Bob my partner would receive one last bill and that would be his final. Bob paid the bill when it arrived mid June and never used his mobile again. YESTERDAY he received another bill. When I rang Telstra this morning... After 90 mins and several disconnection they said they had no record of any cancellation. They then said they'd cancel as of today and I'd receive a final Bill in 2 weeks. I'll This is unacceptable. Bob will not pay the one he received yesterday or the one they are saying they will send. It is their problem not mine. When I complained their staff obviously where not doing their job correctly, they agreed but said I still had to pay. Bob is an aged pensioner. Send the cancellation confirmation to me by post. My address is 31 Ajust Street, August, NSW 2000
